So many of you have said how much the UU Hysterical Society Facebook group means to you, and how different it is from other parts of the social internet.
It’s not that way by accident. It’s due to the tireless work of our mods, who work every day of the year for our community. Groups of our size are often attached to paywalls, sponsorship, or brands… Because of the huge amount of work it takes to moderate them. Ours is attached to none of these things—our mod team is volunteer, except for the tips we generate, and the money from the UU Funding Program that matches those tips. It’s remained that way because our mod team believes it should be free and unsponsored, and they’re willing to work for whatever people are able and willing to offer in order to keep it that way.
How much would you tip your server if you were out to dinner?
